Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: May 26, 2026

The short version

Some links on Your Next Read go to Amazon and Bookshop.org. If you buy something through one of those links, we earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the lights on. Our recommendations are never influenced by affiliate relationships.

Who We Are

Your Next Read is operated by Shoshone Point Ventures LLC. We built this service because we believe people should read more books and that finding the right next book should be effortless. This disclosure is provided in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 C.F.R. Part 255).

What Is an Affiliate Link

When you click a “Buy on Amazon” or “Buy on Bookshop.org” link on Your Next Read, the URL contains a tracking tag that identifies you as coming from our site. If you complete a purchase during that session, we receive a small percentage of the sale as a commission. The price you pay is identical to what you would pay if you navigated to the retailer directly — we receive our commission from the retailer, not from you.

Our Affiliate Partners

Amazon Associates

We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Amazon, the Amazon logo, and related marks are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Our affiliate tag is included in all links to Amazon product pages.

Bookshop.org

We are an affiliate of Bookshop.org, an online bookstore with a mission to financially support independent bookstores. When you buy through our Bookshop.org links, a portion of the sale goes to independent bookshop owners across the country, in addition to the commission we receive. If you care about supporting local bookstores, Bookshop.org is a great choice.

How It Works on This Site

Every book page on Your Next Read includes a buy button. When you click it, you are taken directly to that book's listing on Amazon or Bookshop.org with our affiliate tag in the URL. We log which books are clicked and which retailer is chosen so we can reconcile commission reports — see our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect.

We do not receive advance payment, free books, or other compensation from publishers or authors in exchange for recommending specific titles. Our recommendation engine is driven entirely by your reading history and preferences — affiliate relationships play no role in which books we surface for you.

No Extra Cost to You

Affiliate commissions do not increase the price you pay. Retailers set book prices independently of their affiliate programs. Whether you arrive at Amazon or Bookshop.org through our link or by typing the URL yourself, you will pay the same price.

How We Use Commissions

Affiliate commissions are our primary source of revenue. They pay for server infrastructure, AI API costs, and the time we put into building and maintaining the service. We do not run display ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not charge a subscription fee. If you find the service valuable, buying books through our links is the best way to support it.
